Why Everykept exists
Your bank knows what you spent. It has no idea what you bought. That gap is the whole reason for this product.
A statement line says an amount went to a large appliance retailer on a Tuesday in March. Fourteen months later the dishwasher fails and the manufacturer wants proof of purchase. A line in a statement is not proof of purchase, and no amount of scrolling through a budgeting app will produce one.
That is a small annoyance in a household. It is a serious problem in a small business. Anyone who has assembled backup for an accountant, or answered a query about a deduction from two years ago, knows the specific dread of an expense you can see but cannot substantiate. The money is documented. The purchase is not.
Finance apps are, almost without exception, excellent at the first half of that and indifferent to the second. Receipts, where they appear at all, tend to be a separate inbox, an email forwarding address, or a paid add-on that files an image against a month rather than against a charge. Everykept is built the other way round: automatic bank sync, and a receipt fastened to the exact transaction it belongs to.
Everykept is built and operated in Canada by TiqyTech Inc.. It is deliberately small in scope. It does not try to be your accounting system, your investment tracker or your financial coach — there are good products for each of those, and we say so on the why Everykept page.
What we will not do
Sell your data
Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not in aggregate. If Everykept ever cannot pay for itself with subscriptions, it will shut down rather than change this.
Hold your records hostage
Getting your data out should never be the thing you are charged for, and deleting your account should actually delete what is in it.
Ask for your bank password
Authentication happens on your bank’s own page through Plaid. The connection is read-only and cannot move money.
Gamify your spending
No streaks, no scores, no notifications designed to make you feel behind. It is a record of your money, not a behavioural intervention.
