Supported banks
Connect the accounts you already have
Everykept uses Plaid for bank connections, which reaches thousands of institutions across Canada and the United States — including every major Canadian bank and most credit unions.
How to know for certain
The list below is the institutions people connect most often, not a guarantee. Coverage belongs to Plaid and changes over time, and an individual bank can be temporarily degraded without anything on this page changing. The authoritative check takes about fifteen seconds: create an account, start a connection, and search for your institution by name. If it appears, it connects.
- Chequing, savings and credit card accounts
- You choose which accounts to share — connecting a bank does not hand over all of it
- Read-only: Everykept requests transactions and balances, and cannot move money
- You authenticate on your bank’s own page; we never receive your banking password
Canadian banks
The big six and the largest direct banks.
Canadian credit unions
Regional credit unions and co-operatives.
United States banks
National banks and the largest regionals.
Cards and digital banks
Credit card issuers and app-first accounts.
Reconnecting
When a connection stops working
Bank connections are not permanent, and a broken one is usually the bank rather than the app.
Consent expires
Many institutions require you to re-authorise access periodically. Everykept flags the account and walks you through a short re-authentication rather than making you reconnect from scratch.
You changed your password
Changing your banking credentials invalidates the existing connection by design. One re-authentication restores it, and nothing already synced is lost.
The bank is having a bad day
Institutions go down or slow their data feeds. Transactions catch up once the feed recovers; the ones you already have are unaffected.
FAQ
Connection questions
Everykept uses Plaid for bank connections, which covers thousands of institutions across Canada and the United States — including the major Canadian banks and most credit unions. If your institution is supported by Plaid, it is supported here.
No. You authenticate on your bank’s own page inside Plaid’s flow. What we receive and store is an access token, encrypted at rest, that permits reading the accounts you chose to share. It cannot be used to sign in as you or to move money.
Connections expire or need re-authentication from time to time, particularly after a password change or a periodic consent renewal. When that happens the affected account is flagged and you are walked back through a short re-authentication rather than having to reconnect from scratch.
No. The connection is read-only by design. Everykept requests transaction and balance data and nothing else, so there is no mechanism in the product for initiating a payment or a transfer at your bank.
How your connection is secured is set out on the security page.
